John La Farge is Notable.

John LaFarge was born in New York City on March 31, 1835. His parents were wealthy French immigrants Jean (John) Frederic de la Farge and Maria Louisa Binsse.

John LaFarge is probably best known for his work with stained glass. He patented his method of coloring opalescent glass in 1879, and many of his works are still featured in churches along the U.S. eastern seaboard. He was also a traditional painter, muralist, and writer.

John married Margaret Perry on October 15, 1860 in Newport, Rhode Island. They had 8 children.

John LaFarge died on November 14, 1910 in Providence, Rhode Island. He is buried in the family plot at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
